An accident in a rental car is stressful, but the process in Dubai is clear and quick if you follow the steps. Here is exactly what to do.
First, at the scene
Stop, switch on your hazard lights, and check everyone is safe. If anyone is injured, call 999 immediately. Do not move the cars if there are injuries or a dispute over who is at fault.
Report it to Dubai Police
Every accident must be reported to the police. For a minor bump with no injuries you can often report through the Dubai Police app or by calling 901; more serious cases need officers at the scene. You will receive a police report marked green (you are not at fault) or red (at fault).
You must have the police report
No garage will repair the car and no insurer will process a claim without it. Keep the report safe and photograph the scene and both vehicles.
Then call us
Contact Al Rafaheia as soon as it is safe. Comprehensive insurance covers eligible damage; if you are at fault, the excess may apply. Any fine from the incident follows the driver as usual.
What not to do
Never leave the scene, never move the vehicles when there is injury or disagreement, and never settle privately in cash — without a police report you cannot claim.
