If you have never filled up in the UAE, here is everything you need — the fuel grades, what it costs, and the one thing that surprises most visitors: you do not pump it yourself.
Fuel grades in the UAE
Stations offer Special 95, Super 98 and Diesel. Almost every rental car runs happily on Special 95, which is the standard choice; performance and sports cars may ask for 98.
How much does petrol cost?
UAE fuel prices are reviewed and set monthly by a government committee, so they change a little each month — but they remain among the most affordable anywhere. Fuel is one of the smaller lines in your total rental cost.
Filling up is full-service
You do not need to leave the car. An attendant fills the tank for you — just tell them the grade and how much (a dirham amount or “full”), and pay by card or cash at the window.
Your rental fuel policy
Al Rafaheia uses a simple same-to-same policy: you get the car with a set fuel level and return it at that same level. No refuelling charges, no games.
Where to fill up
In Dubai you will mostly see ENOC and Emarat stations; ADNOC is common in Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates. They are everywhere, so you are never far from one.
